Go's Newest Angel!

God's Newest Angel!
By Luther D. Oliver

I have been where the antelope play,
And been where the eagles fly;
Felt the warmth of a campfire,
And heard the lonely wolves cry;

I have seen a beautiful rainbow,
And heard the church bell ring;
And in the darkness of night,
Heard the sweet songbird sing;

I have felt wind upon my face,
And a gentle rain coming down;
Walked upon fresh fallen snow,
When it blanked the ground;

I have seen a green forest,
And read a lovely prose;
I have paused for a moment,
To smell the scented rose;

I have seen a rambling brook,
And heard the children at play;
Walked along the beach shore,
On a bright sun shining day;

I have seen a mountain high,
And strolled the lush valley below;
I have smelled a cultivated field,
And watched the flowers grow;

I Have seen the deep blue sky,
And swam in a morning sea;
All of these things I have done,
Now God is waiting for me;

This is from a poem I wrote for our grand daughter Stella. Her mother Susan is now
with her in Heaven!

Mama's Gift

Mama's Gift!
By L. Don Oliver

The storm clouds were building,
The heart was sinking low;
The rain came pouring down,
The angry winds began to blow;

Lightening flashing above my head,
The paint less walls wearing thin;
Then you opened your loving arms,
And enclosed me there within;

You kissed my troubled brow,
Hugging me with your might;
Tenderly you sang songs of love,
All through that frightful night;

Finally when the morning came,
Restful sleep was mine to be;
Mama I will always love you,
For your unselfish gifts to me;
